Leading M&E contractor, Hensall is well underway with the extensive mechanical renovation of the iconic Dorchester Hotel in London. The hotel, which is renowned for its luxury and glamour, is being given a contemporary and elegant upgrade, maintaining its historical significance while bringing it up to date with modern amenities.
The £7.2M project, which will take place over several months, includes the complete refurbishment of 50 guest rooms and suites, requiring the careful strip out of existing services and the replacement of modern components throughout.
The design of the rooms has been inspired by the Art Deco era, which is reflected in the use of sumptuous fabrics, sleek furnishings, and luxury fittings that require the highest quality attention to detail and finish.
“We are thrilled to have been selected by Beck as the lead mechanical services contractor Dorchester Hotel, which has been a significant project for us,” said Chris Bond, MD of Hensall Mechanical.
“Our team is working tirelessly to ensure that the hotel retains its historical charm while minimising disruption for any guests currently staying.”
The Dorchester Hotel, which was originally built in 1931, has long been a favourite among celebrities and dignitaries, and its renovation is expected to attract even more visitors to the prestigious hotel.
Speaking on behalf on PSH Consulting, Managing Director Andrew Gaskin comments,
“Having worked with Hensall recently on projects such as Nobu Hotel Portman Square and The Landmark Hotel, we were pleased to learn that Hensall were to become part of Beck Interiors project team on the refurbishment of The Dorchester Hotel. Hensall’s approach is really refreshing – they are proactive, professional and in our experience, very collaborative problem solvers.”
Post completion, the project marks a significant milestone for Hensall, which has a long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality construction and development projects in London and beyond.
