THE DORCHESTER LONDON

The Dorchester is one of the most iconic luxury hotels in the World – and so to be selected as part of the team involved in refurbishing this historical building, Hensall was elated.

Appointed by Beck to design, co-ordinate and install the mechanical services for the bedroom refurbishments, Hensall will do so from levels three to eight, with the project currently underway and due for completion in 2024.

MECHANICAL
Installation of LTHW and CHW fan coil units serving rooms and corridors. installation of new domestic water services to bathrooms and powders from existing risers, installation of all new sanitary ware and showers, modifications to above ground drainage, new ventilation to all bedrooms including MFDS. new bathroom extract ventilation, BMS linked to Lutron lighting system, flushing, chlorination, installation of new LTHW and CHW risers throughout the building. thermal insulation.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Dorchester is undergoing a comprehensive renovation, its first since 1989. We will be working our way up from the 3rd floor and painstakingly replacing the mechanical services within each bedroom whilst at the same time, repairing and renewing the mechanical services infrastructure along the corridors of this iconic hotel.

The work involves careful and quiet strip out of the existing services within all of the bedrooms. We will then be installing brand new fan coils that will provide ventilation to, and temperature control of each of bedroom.

Bathroom suites of the finest quality will be installed by our plumbing teams, with newly designed and installed ventilation systems to include motorised fire/smoke dampers to each bathroom.

A state of the art BMS system will also be installed to provide close control of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and allow energy monitoring and carbon reduction.
