PROJECT OVERVIEW

For this particular project, Hensall was entrusted with the project management to oversee a wide range of our electrical and mechanical services.

The mechanical side of the project saw us provide wet underfloor heating throughout, alongside a wet chilled water fan coil system to provide mechanical cooling. Ventilation was provided by local MVHR air handling units, whilst the domestic water services and drainage were connected to the landlord infrastructure. Risers were installed by Hensall and a temporary plant room set up to allow commissioning and usage of the marketing apartments. This temporary plant room was primarily based around air sourced heat pumps providing heating and domestic hot water.

In terms of electrical, we installed all lighting and containment, as well as vital building functions for security and safety. For mechanical, the team were responsible for a variety of hot and cold water functions, air conditioning, heating and drainage, amongst other aspects of the fit out.

There were a number of challenges which needed to be overcome in order to complete the project, one of which was the on-site logistics. There were also several issues with traffic due to the central London location and the need to transport equipment and machinery. All of these were dealt with by the team effectively in order to deliver the project within budget and timescales.

The nature of this project required that everything was completed to the highest specifications and using the highest quality of materials. This was, of course, not an issue for Hensall as we always seek to provide this level of service as part of any project. It did, however, mean that we needed to be extremely careful and thorough during the design phase of the project.
